This procedure describes Management Responsibilities for the Food Safety
Management system (FSMS) at The Company.
Top Management is responsible for
.1 Providing evidence of its commitment to implement and maintain an
effective Food Safety Management System meeting the requirements of
SQF 2000, and supporting its ongoing improvement.
.2 Establishing a Policy Statement, and reviewing it for continuing suitability.
.3 Communicating the Food Safety Policy Statement, and making sure it is
implemented at all levels of the organization.
.4 Preparing an organizational chart and job descriptions to show the
reporting structure for all those with food safety responsibilities.
.5 Providing adequate resources for the Food Safety Management System.
.6 Designating an SQF Practitioner.
.7 Identifying the Management Review Team.
.8 Ensuring the availability of resources.
It is the responsibility of the management review team to schedule and conduct
management review meetings in compliance with this procedure.
The SQF Practitioner is responsible for collecting summary reports and data from
the responsible functions for input to management review.
The management review team members are responsible for bringing information
and progress reports on action items assigned to them at previous management
review meetings, information on planned changes that could affect the FSMS,
quality planning needs and activities and recommendations for improvements to
The SQF Practitioner is responsible for correction and corrective action on food
safety related customer complaints.
Top management is responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining
procedures to manage potential emergency situations and accidents that can
impact food safety.
